Two people including a woman were killed in separate road accidents in Sitakunda upazila and Chattogram city on Monday (15 January).
Witnesses said Parijan Bibi, 65 wife of Wahid Ullah of Makim Talukdar Bari in Colonel Hat area of the city, was killed when a bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ ran over her while crossing the road in the morning.
In another incident, Md Salauddin, 52, a worker of Port-Link Container Depot and son of Habibullah of Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila, was killed when he was hit by a container trailer at the depot in Bhatiari Banubazar of Sitakunda upazila around 7 am.
Nurul Alam Ashek, in charge of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital police outpost, said both the victims were taken to the hospital where the doctors declared them dead.
The bodies were kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
