A college student was killed and two others were injured in a collision between a truck and a motorbike in Sadar upazila of Magura on Saturday night.
The deceased was Abir Hasan Arko, 18, an HSC second year student of a local college and son of Lemon Sheikh of Parnanduali village under the Sadar upazila while his injured friends are Mobin, 22, and Jubayer, 19.
Magura Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Hasan said the accident occurred 10:30 pm when the truck crashed into the bike coming from the opposite direction on Magura-Jhenaidah Highway in Kashinathpur Chara Bouttala area, leaving Abir dead on the spot and the two injured.
The injured were shifted to Dhaka from Magura Sadar Hospital for better treatment, he said.
Though the truck was seized but its driver managed to flee, he said, adding that a case was filed in this regard.
