A motorcycle rider was dead and the pillion passenger injured after being hit by a covered van in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday (10 March) morning.
The deceased was identified as Jakir Hossain, 52, a construction worker and son of late Foyez Uddin of South Sabajpur in Birampur, and the injured was Rony.
Rezaul Karim, sub-inspector of Phulbari Police Station said a covered van hit the motorcycle, leaving Jakir dead and Rony injured.
Later, the injured was admitted to a local medical center, he added.
The covered van has been seized, but the driver fled, said the SI.
