A 30-year-old died after being crushed under the wheels of a train on the Dhaka-Chattagram rail track in the Fazilpur area of Feni headquarters on Saturday (16 March) morning.
The deceased was identified as Ekram Uddin, 30, son of Mansur Ahmad of Paschim Maijchara village under Sudharam police station of Noakhali district headquarters. He used to work as a chef in Jamea Rashidia Madrasa in Feni town.
Jahangir Alam, inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP) in Feni, said the Chattogram-bound Meghna Express hit while the youth was walking on the rail track in the Fazilpur area in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the body was recovered and sent to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
The victim’s elder brother Imam Uddin, also a teacher of the Jamea Rashidia Madrasa, said Ekram was slightly mentally challenged but used to work as a chef for the madrasa.
