An elderly man died under a train while crossing the rail tracks in the Boalkhali Pourshova area under Boalkhali on Friday (22 March).
The victim was identified as Nona Das,70, hailed from east goamdondi area under Boalkhali thana.
According to eyewitness, Nona Das was crushed under the train while crossing the tracks at around 7 am in the aforesaid area.
Ashaf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Boalkhali thana, told journalists that an elderly man died under the train while crossing the rail track this morning.
He said, police recovered the body and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The matter has been informed to the Railway authority, he added.
