In Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar, five members of the same family died due to electrocution. A six-year-old child named Sonia Akhtar was injured in this incident.
The incident took place at Makhlish Mia's house in the upazila's East Goalbari village early on Tuesday (26 March) morning. The deceased are Faizur Rahman, Shiri Begum, 16-year-old Samia, 13-year-old Sabina and eight-year-old Sayem Uddin.
According to the police and local sources, the electricity wire fell on the house early in the morning. Five members of the same family died due to electrocution. In this incident, a six-year-old child named Sonia Akhtar was injured and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
OC SM Mainuddin of Juri police station said that preparations are underway to recover the body and bring it to the upazila health complex.
