Preparations in Full Swing for the Largest Eid-ul-Fitr Congregation at Gor-e-Shahid Eidgah Maidan in Dinajpur.

As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, the anticipation for the largest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in the country is at its peak.

The historic Gor-e-Shahid Eidgah Maidan in Dinajpur is set to host a massive gathering of Muslims from across the country. The Shaheed Bara Maidan authorities have left no stone unturned in ensuring that all arrangements are in place to accommodate the largest number of Eid congregations.

The fire service is currently engaged in watering the dry areas of the field to ensure safety, and workers are marking the queue lines for Muslims to pray. To facilitate the participation of Muslims from nearby districts, two special trains have been arranged.

The field is undergoing last-minute beautification and renovation activities, including soil filling, washing, and watering. The watch tower of the law and order forces has been dismantled to maintain security without hindrance. Clean water and toilet facilities have been provided for the convenience of the congregants.

The Eidgah minaret will have a four-tier security system, with RAB, police, Ansar recruits, and volunteers ensuring safety. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance, and 19 gates have been constructed for entry, which will be monitored by metal detectors. Ablution facilities and drinking water have been arranged for the convenience of the Muslims.

Rakibul Islam, a resident of Mata Sagar, expressed his pride in having such a large Eidgah minar and congregation in their district. He hopes that people from other countries will also visit in the future. Akash Islam, a Muslim, praised the arrangement of special trains for the convenience of the pilgrims.

National Assembly Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP, advisor to the largest minaret in the Asia subcontinent and the country's largest Eidgah ground, shared that 6 lakh people prayed together in this field on the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in 2023. He also mentioned the arrangement of two special trains for the convenience of Muslims coming from the surrounding districts and upazilas.

To facilitate the congregation, two special trains will run from Thakurgaon via Setabganj to Dinajpur and from Parvatipur to Chirirbandar to Dinajpur. The Thakurgaon train will leave at 5 am on the day of Eid and arrive at Dinajpur station at 7:30 am, making stops at Shibganj, Pirganj, Dinajpur Setabganj, Mangalpur, and Kanchan train stations. The Parvatipur train will leave at 6 am and arrive at Dinajpur station at 7:30 am, with a break at Manmathpur, Chirirbandar, and Kaugaon. The return trains will leave Dinajpur station at 9:30 a.m. after the prayers.
