Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) has directed to close all markets and shops after 8 pm on Thursday (April 25) to meet the demand of electricity in the intense heat.
This information was confirmed to local reporters on Thursday (April 25) afternoon by Mohammad Sher Ali, Supervising Engineer of DPDC's NOCS Office. He said that severe heat waves are going on across the country, besides power shortage is more on hot days.
To deal with this crisis and reduce load shedding, all markets and shops have been directed to remain closed after 8 pm. We are giving this instruction in different places every day through miking. We will warn those who do not follow this instruction by letter. Even then, if not careful, the power can be disconnected.
This guidance will remain throughout the year. Apart from this, we are constantly finding them through raids and disconnecting the illegal electricity connections in the establishments including auto rickshaw stands.
