Two people, including a United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) activist, were shot dead by miscreants at Kattali upazila in Rangamati’s Langadu.
The incident took place at Dhanputi Bazar on Saturday (18 May) morning.
The deceased were identified as UPDF activist Bidyadhan Tilak, 49, and local resident Dhanyamoni Chakma, 32.
Langadu police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid suspects that the two men were killed by the members of the regional political group PCJSS (Santu Larma faction).
