Social Welfare Minister visited North Bengal Museum

Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Dipu Moni MP visited the North Bengal Museum in Kurigram and unveiled a memorial speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman which delivered in Kurigram in 1973. 

During her visit on Saturday afternoon (May 18) along with Ekushe and Freedom Medalist SM Abraham Lincoln, the eminent lawyer and Public Prosecutor, principal of Kurigram Law College visited the North Bengal Museum which consists of 6,000 monuments of liberation war and heritage. She said that despite the economic crisis, the government is continuing social security programs for the welfare of poor people.

After that, the minister attended the civic reception of Freedom Medalist SM Abraham Lincoln at the Sheikh Russell Auditorium in Kurigram as the chief guest.

At this time, she said, Abraham Lincoln established the museum with immense sacrifice and devotion. He devoted his life to spreading the spirit of the Liberation War and inspiring the new generation. So the state has rightly evaluated him.

Member of Parliament of Kurigram-2 Constituency, chairmanship of Dr. Hamidul Haque Khandkar, Kurigram-1 Constituency Member of Parliament AKM Mostafizar Rahman, Kurigram-4 Constituency Member of Parliament Biplab Hasan Palash, National University VC Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Arif, Superintendent of Police Al Asad Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, former mayor of Rangpur municipality, veteran politician Mohammad Afzal, advocate Ahsan Habib Nilu, former civil surgeon Dr.SM Aminul Islam, valiant Freedom Fighter and also the elder brother of Abraham Lincoln Harun-Ur Rashid Lal were present among others.
