Farmer’s body recovered from house in Magura, 2 held

Police recovered the body of a farmer from his house at Borokhari village in Magura's Sadar upazila on Tuesday (21 May).

The deceased was identified as Hafizur Lashkar (63) of the village.

Magura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter.

Hafizur's body was found near his house around 4:00 am on Tuesday, he said.

The deceased's son Tamim Lashkar, said that they all went to sleep after 10:00 pm and woke up to find their father's body in a corner of the room after Fazr.

Hearing their screams, the villagers came and informed the police.

Police recovered Hafizur's sandals from inside the canal and saw bloodstains near neighbour Harun's house on the other side of the canal.

Meanwhile, Harun (40) and Faruk (38) were on suspicion of their involvement in the incident. A case has been filed at Magura Police Station in this regard.

The body has been sent to Magura morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
