After a temporary gap, Chuadanga on Saturday (25 May) again experienced the country's highest temperature at 41.7 degrees Celsius. People are experiencing the blistering heat as a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and it may continue.
Rakibul Hasan, senior observer of Chuadanga First Class Meteorological Observatory, said that from May 6 to May 24, the temperature was ranging from 34 degrees to 40.0 (zero) degrees Celsius.
“But today at 3pm, they recorded 41.7 Degrees Celsius,” he added. “Due to the increase of moisture incursion people feel discomfort.”
Along with this, load shedding has led to extreme discomfort in the public life of Chuadanga.
The people of the district, especially the low-income people are in dire straits due to the intense heat.
Dr Waliar Rahman, health and family planning officer for Chuadanga Sadar upazila, advised the residents to stay indoors because of the risk of heatstroke.
He emphasised the importance of staying hydrated and consuming fruits as much as possible
Earlier on April 30, Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature of this season at 43.8 degrees Celsius.
