Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (RAJUK) has conducted a joint inspection drive in Shyamoli in the capital on Monday (27 May). The capital development authority conducted the inspection at SARA Sandhani Life Tower and ASA Tower in the area in coordination with Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Fire Service and Dhaka Power Distribution Company.
RAJUK Member (Development) Major (retd) Engineer Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury said that such joint inspection activities will continue in the future.
As per decision of urban development committee meeting, a joint inspection of the representatives of these inter-organizational agencies was carried out to reduce building accidents in the area under Zone-3/1 of RAJUS, according to the officials.
The participant officials laid emphasise on building as per the approved design and following the guidelines of Fire Service to deal with fire risk.
The inspection discussed regular fire drills and regular checks of electrical equipment in the building and suggested following a checklist to ensure fire safety.
RAJUK Chief Engineer Ujjwal Mallick, Director (Development Control) Mohammad Shamsul Haque, Director (Zone-3) Tajina Sarwar, Superintending Engineer Mohammad Nazmus Sakib Jamali, Authorised Officer Sheikh Mahabbir Roni, Deputy Architect Iqbal Hossain, DNCC Chief Town Planner Maqsud Hashem, Mizanur Rahman and Abdul Mukit of DMP and Fire Service warehouse inspectors Nasreen Sultana and Sheikh Shahazur Rahman were also present on the occasion.
