Police recovered the body of an unidentified elderly woman from a field beside the highway in Mathurapur-Choudhuripara of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Saturday (1 June).
ABM Firoz Wahid, officer-in-charge of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Police went to the sport and recovered the body after being informed by loals, he said.
A CID team is working at the site to identify the woman. An investigation is ongoing, and an unnatural death) case has been filed at the Sadar Police Station, the OC said.
The body was sent to Thakurgaon General Hospital for an autopsy, he added.
