Two people were killed and two others injured when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw on Kaliganj-Tongi-Ghorashal bypass road at Nalchata in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur district on Thursday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediate. The accident occurred at noon when the Tongi-bound bus of ‘Chalanbeel Paribahan’ hit the auto-rickshaw, coming from opposite direction, leaving the auto-rickshaw driver killed on the spot and two others injured, said inspector Maruf Ahmed, in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station.
The injured were taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared one of them dead.
Police seized the bus but could not arrest its driver.
