A Saudi expatriate was killed in a lightning strike in Brahmanbaria's Nabinagar upazila on Monday (10 June). The victim was identified as Mohammad Sohag, 28, son of Abdus Salam of Satghar Hati of Krishnanagar Union.
Family members said Sohag returned to Bangladesh three months ago to get married.
He was grazing his buffaloes at Abdullahchar near Baishmouza Bazar in the morning.
Suddenly, he was struck by a thunderbolt and died on the spot.
Md Mahbub Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nabinagar Police Station, confirmed his death.
