Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu distributed relief goods among the cyclone Remal-affected families in Jhalokathi sadar upazila here on Saturday (15 June).
Former industry minister Amir Hossain Amu handed over the relief goods to the victims at Jhalokathi Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
At this time, 50 people were given a check of Tk 5,000 each as a financial donation worth about Tk 2, 50,000 and dry food bags were distributed among 1,000 people.
Amu said in the event as chief guest, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the Awami League government wants to put smiles on the faces of the suffering people. Therefore, the government will provide all kinds of support to compensate the victims during any disaster.
Jhalokathi District Council Chairman Khan Saifulla Panir and Sadar upazila parishad Chairman Khan Arifur Rahaman were present at the event with Jhalokati Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anuja Mondal in the chair.
