Two friends were killed and three others injured after a car carrying them crashed into a roadside tree in Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area in the small hours on Tuesday (18 June).
The deceased were identified as Sayem Reza Rabbi, 28, and Mohammad Russell, 30 while the injured are Ratul, 27, Sagor, 28, and Biplob, 30.
The accident occurred around 12:30am.
Salim Reza, the father of deceased Rabbi, said that five friends, including his son Rabbi, went for outing taking Ratul's private car on Monday night.
Around 12:30am, the private car carrying them first hit island of the road and finally crashed into a tree, leaving five friends seriously injured.
Later, they were rescued and taken to the emergency department of DMCH around 1:30 am where doctors declared Rabbi and Russell dead.
Ratul and Sagor are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
And their friend Biplob is receiving treatment at another private hospital in Dhaka.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Masud Mia of DMCH Police Camp said that the bodies were kept in the morgue.
