A day-long medical camp was held today ( 20 June) at Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College Hospital here by an initiative of Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, to provide treatment and medicine to the poor patients free of cost.
Chairman of the Kidney Disease Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam inaugurated the medical camp as the chief guest.
Professor Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam, chairman of the kidney disease department of the BSMMU and 10 specialist doctors provided medical treatment and medicines free of cost among the 1,000 poor, helpless patients of the area.
District Awami League President Mahabub Ali Khan, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Kazi Liaquat Ali Leku, its General Secretary Abu Siddique Sikder and local AL leaders and workers, among others, were present.
