Bandar Upazila Chairman and Musapur Union Parishad's three time elected chairman Maksud Hossain`s bail denied by the court and sent to jail against case of women and children abuse.
Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge (Special Tribunal-2) Acting Judge Umme Saraban Tahura gave this order on Thursday (June 20).
Meanwhile, in the case he granted for 8 weeks bail from the High Court, he surrendered to the court and applied for bail.
However, due to the death of a learned lawyer on this day, the proceedings of the Narayanganj Court were closed, so the hearing was not held on the scheduled date.
On (April 25), a division bench comprising Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman and Justice SM Masood Hossain Dolan granted eight weeks anticipatory bail to Maksood.
