Police recovered the body of a young man from the bank of the Karatoya River in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday (23 June) morning.
The deceased Shahinur, 28, son of Babu Mia from Nandanpur village in Ghoraghat, worked as a mason.
According to locals, Shahinur had gone missing since yesterday after leaving work and did not return home at night.
His body was found this morning near the Karatoya riverbank by local residents.
It was further disclosed that Shahinur had a history of drug addiction.
Asaduzzaman Asad, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, confirmed the matter.
The initial inquest report revealed no visible injury marks, said the OC.
The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death, he added.
