29 govt primary schools get new building

Under three demand-based government primary school infrastructure development projects from the fiscal years 2019 to 2023, the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) of Jashore Sharsha Upazila has completed the construction of new buildings for 29 government primary schools.

Upon completion of these projects, goals include ensuring 100% enrollment of children in schools, reducing the dropout rate, fostering children's mental development, improving access to education, and reducing social disparities through continuous progress in higher education and overall development. It will also ensure a child-friendly educational environment and enhance the quality of education.

According to sources from the LGED in Sharsha Upazila, construction began on boundary walls and new buildings for 33 government primary schools over a five-year period under three projects. Among these, construction of attractive new buildings and various development works, including boundary walls, has been completed for 29 schools. These new buildings and development works have created significant excitement among the local people and students.

Teachers at these schools report that the development initiatives taken by Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the LGED to improve education quality are truly commendable. These efforts will prevent student dropouts, make students more school-oriented, and enhance the quality of education.

Shahnawaz Parveen, the head teacher of Navaron Rail Bazar Primary School, stated that the construction quality of the new building is excellent, and students are now able to attend classes more comfortably. They also feel a greater sense of ease. She expressed her gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister and the Upazila LGED.

Sharsha Upazila LGED officer M M Mamun Hasan mentioned that 80% of the five-year demand-based government primary school infrastructure development project has already been completed from the fiscal years 2019 to 2023. The ongoing activities are expected to be completed very soon.

Sharsha Upazila Executive Officer Nayan Kumar Rajbanshi stated that the government is tirelessly working to achieve extensive development in the education sector. He hopes that the development seen in various educational institutions in Sharsha Upazila will continue as part of the government's ongoing development efforts.
