The western side of the Singair bus stand along the Hemayetpur - Singair - Manikganj regional highway has become a dumping ground, where waste from hotels, restaurants, private clinics, hospitals, and even animal waste accumulate, baking in the sun and decaying in the rain. Pedestrians are forced to cover their noses due to the foul odor.

Around the bus stand, there are numerous shops selling various items, including CNG-powered autos, motorcycle stands, meat markets, hotels, restaurants, clinics, and hospitals. The area bustles with activity day and night, with a constant flow of vehicles and people from various professions passing through. Despite this activity, the waste from these establishments is indiscriminately dumped on the highway's western side, creating a serious environmental and health hazard.

For a considerable period, this area has turned into a dumping ground, raising concerns among the community about the potential spread of airborne diseases. The accumulation of waste poses a serious risk to public health, prompting locals to urge swift action from the authorities.
Pedestrian Zakir Hossain Biswas expressed, "While passing through the road, one must keep their mouth closed due to the overpowering stench. It's unbearable. I urge the administration to address the issue of dumping garbage on such a crucial road."

Rakibul Hasan Biswas, Treasurer of the Singair Bus Stand Shop Owners Association, highlighted the environmental pollution caused by the dumping of animal waste, medical clinic waste, and restaurant waste in the area. "No one seems to be paying attention. The situation is dire, affecting road traffic as well. We demand urgent action from the administration to prevent further littering."

Singair Municipality Mayor Abu Naim Bashar mentioned that due to the lack of a dumping station, there is currently no feasible action plan in place for managing the garbage accumulation.

Singair Upazila Executive Officer Palash Kumar Basu assured that immediate steps are being taken to address the issue and remove the garbage from the area swiftly.
