The Local Government Engineer Department (LGED) built 500 kilometer new links roads and repaired further 250 kms under different in nine upazila of Noakhali district in last five year.
As a result, people can now reach the town quickly using new paved roads from the village. Thus, they can lead a quality life and achieve economic success.
The villagers are getting advantages in fields, like education, digital banking, etc. Marginalized farmers can reach the nearby towns with their crops very quickly now and get more profits.
According to LGED source, in the last five years, the LGED of Noakhali district rehabilitated 250 km roads and link
roads, thus making communication faster.
The Executive Engineer of LGED Md. Azaharul Islam said, in the last five years, we have built 35 cyclone centers, 9 freedom fighter complexes, 9 land office buildings, mosques, temples, educational institutions under social infrastructure have been constructed in different upazilas of LGED district, especially in coastal areas. In response to a question, LGED Engineer Md. Azaharul Islam told The Messenger, in the last 5 years, we have built modern buildings along with the rural structures.
He added that there is no scope of any irregularity where demand is given and received through E-Tender.
In response to another question, he said, there is no political pressure, giving opportunities or tender.
He said, we have to identify the quality of road work by the laboratory.
Once, the district office labs tested, currently there are labs available in upazila levels. We verify the quality of roads through the laboratory test .
Md. Azaharul Islam, in response to the question of how to check the quality and project profile of the road, he said, there is a team regarding this, PD are under the supervision of the team leader and all engineers.
In addition, the Ministry of Road Affairs is conducting a thorough investigation of the committee. However, district level engineers, upazila level workers, and laboratories do quality control.
