Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has stated that there is no external pressure regarding the minority issue. He assured that the army will provide full support to the current government to conduct an acceptable election after the state's reforms.

On Tuesday (13 August) afternoon, the Army Chief briefed the media about the overall situation of the country, including law and order, at the Rajshahi Cantonment.

During the briefing, he mentioned that the current situation in the country is gradually returning to normal. The law and order situation is completely under control.

The Army Chief noted that there have been 30 isolated incidents in 20 districts. None of these are desirable. Whoever is responsible will be brought to justice.

In response to a question from the media, the Army Chief said that the police are currently under trauma. Once they recover and return to a normal state, the army will return to the barracks.

High-ranking officials of the administration, including the DIG of the Rajshahi Range, were present at the time."**
