Additional Secretary of Local Government Department AHM Kamruzzaman has taken responsibility as administrator of City Corporation.
On Tuesday (August 20) at 11 o'clock he came to Nagar Bhaban and took charge of Narayanganj City Corporation as an administrator. Later he held a meeting with the officers of all departments of the City Corporation.
Additional Secretary of Local Government Department AHM Kamruzzaman said, I am holding a meeting with all the officials and discussing the issues to be done. How to serve the city dwellers with short and long term considerations. I will try to work on it in short, medium and long term, I want everyone's cooperation.
It is to be noted that after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country due to the anti-discrimination student movement, the interim government removed the mayors of 12 city corporations of the local government department and appointed administrators.
Hence, like other 11 city corporations, the mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation won the nomination of the newly deposed Awami League. Selina Hyatt Ivy also lost her position yesterday.
