Health and Family Welfare Advisor Nurjahan Begum stated that there are numerous issues in the country's healthcare system, and resolving these will require time and the cooperation of all involved.

She made these remarks on Saturday (August 24) after inspecting the flood-affected Sonaimuri Upazila in Noakhali district.

Nurjahan Begum mentioned that she visited Kashipur Multipurpose High School, Kashipur Muhammadiya Fazil Madrasa, and Washeqpur Al Falah Model High School shelter centers.

She noted a shortage of water purification tablets in these areas and instructed the relevant authorities to ensure that there is an adequate stock of necessary medicines and supplies.

She also cautioned that post-flood, there could be outbreaks of diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and skin infections, emphasizing the need for immediate preparedness.

Nurjahan Begum also visited the Sonaimuri Upazila Health Complex. During her visit, she discussed healthcare services, relief efforts, and the health of newborns with the people taking refuge in the shelters.

Noakhali District Civil Surgeon Dr. Masum Iftekhar, district administration officials, and members of the Central Subcommittee on Health of the Anti-Discrimination Movement were present during the visit.
