Director General of the Disaster Management Department, Rezaunur Rahman, visited Cumilla to monitor the ongoing relief efforts. On Monday (August 26), he visited the flood-affected areas of Burichang, Monohorganj, Laksam, and Sadar Dakshin upazilas to oversee the relief operations.
During his visit, he emphasized the importance of ensuring that every flood-affected family receives proper aid. Earlier, he held a discussion at the Circuit House with all the district's project implementation officers regarding the overall situation. District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Mohammad Abed Ali was also present at the meeting.
Throughout the day, Rezaunur Rahman visited various shelters across the four upazilas to check on the flood victims. The relief department has been providing essential supplies such as rice, sugar, salt, and oil, along with cash assistance to those affected by the floods.
It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the floods, the Cumilla Relief and Rehabilitation Department has been actively involved in assessing the damage and providing aid to the affected people. District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Mohammad Abed Ali has been distributing relief supplies to the flood victims daily.
