At least four people, including women and children, were killed and another four injured in a road accident in the district tonight.
The accident took place when a microbus collided head-on a covered van in Dagirya area of the Sadar upazila on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 9.30pm, Narsingdi Fire Service Station Officer Md Raihan confirmed the matter.
The deceased were identified as Kamrun Nahar ,35, Tanzina ,24, Sabiha ,14, and Sazit ,12, of Raypura Upazila of the district.,
According to deceased family sources, all of them were returning home from Mirpur of Dhaka.
