An explosion happened at a shipyard located Sonaischhari Union of Sitakunda, Chattogram.
Blast and subsequent fire injured 12 workers on Saturday (7 September) on 11:30 AM. Firefighters are working to control the blaze. As of 2 PM, two units from the Kumira Fire Station are still on-site managing the fire.
Injured workers, who have been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), are: Ahmad Ullah, Mohammad Al-Amin, Mohammad Barkat, Habib Ahmed, Mohammad Niyamul Haque, Anwar Hossain, Abul Kashem, Mohammad Jahangir, Mohammad Khairul, Mohammad Sagar, Mohammad Rafiq and Mohammad Saiful
The explosion happened in the pump room of M/S S N Corporation Shipyard. Emergency services were quick to respond to the incident.
