Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three drug peddlers with 43 kilograms of cannabis in Salanga upazila of Sirajganj. The arrestees are Md Atikul Islam, 42, Md Liton Miah, 20, and Md Jamil Islam, 19, all from Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat.
In a media release, signed by the RAB-12’s Commandant Lt. Col M Abul Hashem Sabju, it said being tipped-off a team of the elite force conducted a drive in front of a refueling station in Raninagar village under the upazila around 4pm on Friday.
Cannabis, Tk 27, 000 in cash, two mobile phone sets and seized a truck during the drive, it reads.
The arrestees had long been involved with the drug peddling and a case was filed in this regard, the release said.
