The railway authorities on Saturday conducted an eviction drive at Dohazari railway station in Chandanaish upazila in Chattogram.
A total of 12 illegal structures and a kitchen market were evicted during the drive, said Dapankar Tanchangya, divisional estate office of railway east zone. “We recovered a total of 55,892 square feet of land worth Tk 13 crore from the illegal occupants,” he said.
Assistant estate officer Shahiduzzaman, subordinate revenue officer Md Solaiman Hossain and Dohazari railway station master Elias Chowdhury, among others, were present during the drive.
