A workshop on stress management with laughter therapy was held on Thursday at the DIRI conference hall at Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif of Fatikchhari in Chattogram.
Taqdis in collaboration with the DIRI Sufi Counseling Centre organized the workshop on the occasion of the birth bicentenary of Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari and as part of the implementation of the Ethics Development Programme (EDP).
Darul Irfan Research Institute’s managing trustee Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari presided over while Dr. Md. Shahinoor Rahman, associate professor of the Department of Psychology of Chittagong University facilitated the workshop. Afsatu Jannat Kabita, psychologist at DIRI Sufi Counseling Centre, coordinated the event.
The workshop focused on teaching participants how to manage stress through laughter therapy, a form of therapy that uses humor and laughter to improve physical and emotional health.
Speakers said that laughter has been shown to have many benefits, including reducing stress, improving mood, boosting the immune system, and relieving pain.
Around hundred participants from all walks of life attended the workshop.
