Three including Rohingya woman arrested for stealing jewelry at Satkania

Police on Saturday informed that they arrested three women including a Rohingya on charges of their alleged involvement with stealing gold jewelry at a wedding at Satkania upazila in Chattogram on Thursday. 

The arrested were identified as Kala Banu, 26, wife of Abdur Razzaq from Kuniyapalang ward no 3 of Ramu Upazila in Cox's Bazar; Jahanu Begum, 35, wife of Md. Alam of the same area; and Rohingya Senowara Begum, 35, wife of the deceased Majid Ahmed from line no 13 of Kutupalong camp no 18, said officials.

Mostafa Kamal Khan, officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station, told The Daily Messenger that they arrested the three on Friday on charges of their alleged involvement with stealing gold jewelry at a wedding at Iqbal convention hall area in Moulvi Dokan on Thursday. 

The OC informed that during primary interrogation, the accused admitted that they would steal gold, cash, mobile phones, and other valuables by posing as guests at different social events and hospitals, especially in crowded areas.

A case was filed against the accused and they were sent to jail after producing before a court,
