Police on Saturday informed that a case was filed with Fatikchhari police station against 184 persons including former member of the parliament of Chattogram-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency, Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari.
Saddam Hossain of Paindang area in Fatikchhari filed the case on Thursday night on charges of attempt to murder, theft, arson, cocktail explosions and death threats on March 26, 2017, Nur Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari police station, told The Daily Messenger.
Among the other accused in the case are former upazila chairmen Nazim Uddin Muhuri, HM Abu Taiyab, and Tauhidul Alam Babu, two former municipality mayors Ismail Hossain and AK Jahed Chowdhury, Nazibul Bashar's son Taiyabul Bashar Maizbhandari along with 134 others named, and 50 unknown individuals, the OC said.
According to the case statement, the accused allegedly carried out attacks on the plaintiff and BNP office on March 26, 2017 at the upazila Shaheed Minar premises and the Asia Plaza at Fatikchhari. The incident involved attempt to murder, theft, arson, cocktail explosions, and death threats.
OC Nur Ahmed said that they were trying to arrest the accused in connection with this case.
