2 motorcyclists killed in Sunamganj road accident

Two motorcyclists were killed in a collision between an auto-rickshaw and motorcycle on the Beheli-Sachna Bazar road in Rajarpur Bijra   area under Jamalganj  upazila of the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Qatar expatriate Md. Ashiq Noor, 35, son of Shukur Ali, resident of Alipur village in Beheli union of the upazila and Soleman, 35, son of Tara Mia, resident of the same village of the upazila.

The accident occurred in the area when they were returning home riding a motorcycle from Jamalganj upazila Sadar. On the way the motorcycle collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 9pm last night, leaving them seriously injured, said sub-inspector (SI) of Jamalganj Police Station Jahangir Alam.

The injured were taken to Jamalganj Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared Md. Ashiq Noor dead. Later, another injured Soleman was shifted to the 250-bed District Sadar Hospital for better treatment where he succumbed to his injures at the hospital, SI said.

Ashiq Noor’s relative Shahjahan Reza said Ashiq came   home from Qatar on leave about a month and a half ago. He was scheduled to go to Qatar on November 30.
