United Commercial Bank PLC Limited's (UCB) agricultural support scheme, Bhoroshar Notun Janala, conducted its fifty-sixth skill-development training session in Brahmanbaria. Two hundred twenty-five agricultural entrepreneurs from nine upazilas of the district received this training at the district's Advocate Syed Sirajul Islam Municipal Community Center, Tanker Par (Loknath Dighi Par).

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, UCB has been organising such training in different country districts for promising agricultural entrepreneurs, following the Bangladesh Bank's directives.

The day-long event welcomed Rezaul Karim Siddique, Presenter of BTV's agriculture-based show 'Mati O Manush' and an agricultural analyst, as event chair. Md Ridwanul Haque, SEVP, Head of Branch Distribution Channel Unit, UCB, attended the programme as a Special Guest. Sushant Saha, Deputy Director, Directorate of Agriculture Extension, Brahmanbaria; Md. Habibul Islam, District Livestock Officer, Brahmanbaria; and Mohammad Zakir Hossain, District Fisheries Officer, Brahmanbaria were present as respected guests.

Event Chair Rezaul Karim Siddique said, "Through Bhoroshar Notun Janala, UCB is working to upskill entrepreneurs in the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors. This initiative aims to support agri-entrepreneurs nationwide in becoming self-dependent through extensive knowledge of business and modern techniques."

UCB has already implemented several initiatives for farmers under its 'Bhoroshar Notun Janala' project. These include planting different varieties of trees, training for agri-entrepreneurs, and distributing agro-related smart devices such as the AI-driven 'Aro Maas (MoreFish)' device. UCB has also promoted maise farming as an alternative crop to tobacco, installed lightning arresters to protect against lightning, and distributed food production machinery in different areas (free of cost) of the country.
