A free medical camp was held at Panchlaish area in Chattogram on Monday on the occasion of Victory Day 2024.
The free medical camp was jointly organised by Liver Care Society, Lions Club of Chittagong Metropolitan, Leo Club of Chittagong Metropolitan and Provati Sangha, Panchlaish providing vital health services to the local community. Around hundred people attended the camp, availing themselves of free medical consultations and screenings.
The camp offered various diagnostic services, including Hepatitis B screening, blood pressure measurement, and blood sugar level tests. These services were aimed at promoting awareness of liver health and general well-being among the public.
Dr. Abdullah Al Mahmood, president of the Liver Care Society, said they took the initiatives in preventing chronic liver diseases and ensuring early detection of health issues.
“Awareness and timely diagnosis are very imporant in combating conditions like Hepatitis B and other liver-related illnesses. Through such camps, we aim to extend healthcare to those who may otherwise not have access,” he said.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing the significance of free healthcare services in addressing critical health concerns in underserved areas.
The camp also provided attendees with health tips and counseling on lifestyle changes to prevent liver diseases, diabetes, and hypertension. Volunteers and medical professionals worked throughout the day to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
This initiative is part of the Liver Care Society’s ongoing commitment to community health, with plans for similar programs in other areas of Chattogram in the future.
