The prize distribution ceremony of the Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Merit Scholarship and Development Examination 2024, and the Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari Technical Merit Scholarship Examination 2024, for the Chattogram Metropolitan center, was held on Tuesday at the auditorium of Mirza Ahmed Ispahani Memorial School at Mohora.
This event was organised as a part of the 119th annual Urs and bicentennial celebration of Hazrat Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari (K.), organised under the guidance of the Sajjadanshin of Gausia Ahmadia Manzil Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Emdadul Hoque Maizbhandari (M.).
Nayeb Sajjadanshin Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, chairman of Maizbhandari Foundation and managing trustee of Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI), addressed the programme as chief guest while Dr. Md. Iqbal Sarwar, Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Chittagong University, Kazi Md. Saiful Aspea, Assistant Professor of English at Chittagong Independent University; and Everest conqueror Dr. Babar Ali addressed the programme as special guests.
Pankaj Kumar Bhattacharjee, Headmaster of Mirza Ahmed Ispahani Memorial School, presided over the programme and Muhammad Ariful Islam, Literary and Cultural Secretary of the Anjuman-e-Muttabeen-e-Gaus-e-Maizbhandari (Shah Emdadia), Chattogram Metropolitan Executive Council conducted the event.
Muhammad Mohiuddin Enayet, Welfare Secretary of the Central Executive Council of Anjuman-e-Muttabeen-e-Gaus-e-Maizbhandari (Shah Emdadia); Shamimul Hasan, Center Secretary of the scholarship examination; officials of the metropolitan and district executive councils, representatives from various branches, teachers, guardians, bankers, and individuals from diverse professions were present at the programme.
Awards were presented to 82 scholarship recipients from various educational institutions under Chattogram Metropolitan.
Chief guest Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari said, “Children must be nurtured as compassionate human beings. Students should prepare themselves mentally and move forward with determination to achieve their life goals.”
Addressing parents, he said, “Guide your children properly and ensure they do not stray from the right path. Be attentive and caring towards your children.”
Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari also expressed gratitude to the Mirza Ahmed Ispahani Memorial School authorities and the Ispahani family for their cooperation in organizing the scholarship examination.
Dr. Babar Ali, Everest conqueror, urged collective efforts for societal betterment, saying, “All good work requires is a strong willpower, which enables one to achieve the impossible.”
He further highlighted environmental awareness by calling for an end to plastic usage.
“By using plastic for temporary convenience, we are causing harm that will last at least 500 years,” he said.
