The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain has announced to take administrative resolution against any officer or employee of Chattogram City Corporation who deprives every citizen of the right to services.
The mayor made the announcement while inspecting the cleanliness activities and checking attendance in front of the West Sholoshahar ward office on Sunday.
The mayor said every citizen has the right to service. But even today, we have identified some employees who are not working or are evasive. Many of those who were appointed during the previous government are not performing their duties properly. We will replace such staff with new staff to improve the quality of work.
Administrative action will be taken against those who fail to provide the services to the citizens they deserve. I want everyone to work sincerely because I am firmly committed to discharging my duties as a public servant.
Meanwhile,I go to every ward. My people are checking whether the activities are being done properly in the wards. But I am still not 100 percent satisfied with the cleanliness activities after conducting raids in the ward. Not even 30 to 40 percent of my goal has been achieved. When I can take it to 80 to 90 percent, I think I'm satisfied.
Those who were ward councillors during the previous government have infiltrated some of their own people here. A part of them are cheating up.
Warning the cleaning department staff, the mayor said, "We have mosquito repellents in quantity. There is nothing to worry about for mosquito medicine. I'll give as much as it takes. But mosquito medicine has to be killed. My main point is to spray. To stop people's suffering. We are taking action against those who will cheat everywhere. I have repeatedly said that as long as these two months of winter last, Culex mosquitoes will continue to grow. Otherwise, some people may lose their jobs for negligence.
After receiving the attendance, the mayor visited the Urban Health Center of the ward office.
The mayor said there is a plan to build a 10-bed maternity center here. Since we have some space here, we are trying to make a small maternity center for patients in this area. If such centers can be started in every ward, then I think healthcare services will reach the people more easily. At present, 40 to 50 patients are seen here regularly. But I want this number to be increased from 100 to 200 people. I don't understand why so few patients come to such a beautiful place. That's why I have ordered more advertisements and campaigns.
Chief Clean Officer Commander Latiful Haque Kazmi, Assistant Engineer Kamal Hossain Selim, Deputy Chief Clean Officer Pranab Kumar Sharma, Mayor's Personal Assistant Maruful Haque Chowdhury and other officials and employees of the clean department were present on the occasion.
