The prize distribution ceremony of the Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Merit Scholarship and Development Examination 2024, and the Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari Technical Merit Scholarship Examination 2024, for Patiya and Karnaphuli upazilas was held at Abdus Sobhan Rahat Ali High School Auditorium on Sunday morning.
This event was organised as a part of the 119th annual Urs and bicentennial celebration of Hazrat Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari (K.), organised under the guidance of the Sajjadanshin of Gausia Ahmadia Manzil Hazrat Maulana Shah Sufi Syed Emdadul Hoque Maizbhandari (M.).
The chief guest at the ceremony, Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, chairman of Maizbhandari Foundation and managing trustee of the Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI), addressed the students. He urged them to focus not only on achieving good academic results but also on becoming individuals with strong moral character.
"Without good character, progress in this world is meaningless. Alongside academic pursuits, students must strive to become compassionate and humane individuals," he said.
Headmaster of Abdus Sobhan Rahat Ali High School Muhammad Mizanur Rahman presided over the programme while senior teacher ATM Toha, assistant teacher Muhammad Absar, and various dignitaries from the Anjuman-e-Muttabayeene Gaus-e-Maizbhandari (Shah Emdadia) were present as the special guests.
A total of 54 meritorious students from various educational institutions under Patiya and Karnaphuli upazilas received awards during the ceremony.
Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari expressed gratitude to the school authorities, other educational institutions, teachers, students, and guardians for their cooperation in organizing the scholarship examinations.
Later in the day, a similar award ceremony was held in Chandanaish upazila, honoring more scholarship recipients.
