A day-long humanitarian event, organized by the Alhaj Syedul Haque Khan Trust, took place on last Wednesday at the Charandwip area of Boalkhali Upazila. The initiative included free eye care services, voluntary blood donation, free blood grouping camps, and training programs.
As part of the celebration for the 119th annual Urs of Hazrat Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari (K.) and the bicentennial of his birth, the program also featured scholarship award ceremonies for the Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Merit Scholarship and Development Examination 2024, and the Gausul Azam Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari Technical Merit Scholarship Examination 2024 at the Boalkhali center. The upazila audition for the Gausul Azam Maizbhandari National Hifzul Quran Competition 2024–25 was also held.
Syedul Haque Khan, trustee of Alhaj Syedul Haque Khan Trust, presided over the events while Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, Nayeb Sajjadanashin of Maizbhandar Gausia Ahmadia Manzil and managing trustee of Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI) addressed the events as chief guest.
Mohammad Habib Ullah, proprietor of Khatunganj’s Ishfar Habib Trading, Ishfar Mahtab Ullah, Zahir Uddin Mohammad Babar, and Shahzada Syed Manawar Hossain were present as the special guests at the events.
During the event, a total of 40 bags of blood were collected through the voluntary blood donation program, free eye care services were provided to 300 patients, including glasses and essential medicines. Scholarships were awarded to 47 students from various educational institutions of Boalkhali upazila.
The program also included religious events such as Quran recitation, Khatm-e-Bukhari, and the International Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) Mahfil in the evening. The Mahfil featured discussions by prominent scholars, including Allama Qazi Muhammad Moinuddin Ashrafi, Shafiqul Islam Al Quaderi, principal Ismail Nomani, principal Mufti Mohammad Harunur Rashid, vice-principal Julfiker Ali.
Anjuman-e-Muttabayeene Gaus-e-Maizbhandari (Shah Emdadia), Maizbhandari Foundation, DIRI, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chattogram, Al Noor Community Eye Hospital, and the Maizbhandari Shah Emdadia Blood Donors Group assisted the events.
The Syedul Haque Khan Trust continues its legacy of organizing annual humanitarian and spiritual events to contribute to societal welfare in Boalkhali’s Charandwip area.
