CVASU Biotech Faculty starts academic activities

The Faculty of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) officially began its academic activities for the first batch of students admitted for the 2023–2024 academic year on Thursday.

To mark this milestone, an orientation program was held in the morning at the faculty located in the university’s Research and Farm-Based Campus in Hathazari.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, vice-chancellor of CVASU and the acting Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, addressed the programme as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Ferdousi Akhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology; Professor Dr. Sheikh Ahmad-Al-Nahid, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan, founding Chair of the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department at the University of Chittagong addressed as the special guests. 

The program concluded with a photo session involving the new students and the esteemed guests.

However, CVASU also organized separate orientation programs for newly admitted students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, and Faculty of Fisheries for the 2023–2024 academic year.

During these programs, the students were briefed on examination rules, proctorial regulations, dormitory guidelines, library rules, academic and administrative processes, the One Health initiative, student welfare, healthcare facilities, and extracurricular activities, including physical fitness programs.
