A construction worker was injured after falling from the fourth floor of an under-construction building of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday morning. This is the second serious accident to occur at the site within the past year.

The injured worker, Hasanur Hasan, from Shailokupa Mirzapur Union in Jhenaidah district, is the son of Khokan Mondol. According to witnesses, Hasan fell from the fourth floor to the second floor of the new administration building at approximately 11 am while working. He was left critically injured from the fall.

Fellow workers immediately rushed Hasan to the university's medical center. Dr. Badiuzzaman, the attending doctor, stated that Hasan appeared to have sustained a fracture in his femur, the large bone in the upper part of his left leg. For further treatment and an X-ray confirmation of the injury, he has been referred to the district Sadar Hospital.

This is the second accident at the construction site, following the death of another worker a year ago. Safety concerns have been raised by workers and authorities as the building's construction continues.
