National Hifzul Quran Competition concludes at Maizbhandar

In celebration of the bicentennial birth anniversary of Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Shah Sufi Syed Ahmed Ullah, the Gausul Azam Maizbhandari National Hifzul Quran Competition was successfully concluded at Maizbhandar Darbar Shariff at Fatikchhari in Chattogram. 

The event was organized under the patronage of Hazrat Mawlana Shah Sufi Syed Emdadul Hoque Maizbhandari and supervised by Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, Chairman of Maizbhandari Foundation and Managing Trustee of Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI).

The final round held on Wednesday at the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif in Fatikchhari, featured 500 participants competing in two categories. The grand finale utilized eight booths with 16 experienced judges to select the top competitors in two stages. From the 20 finalists, five winners from each category were awarded gold and silver medals, crests, commemorative prize bonds, and crowns. Additionally, over TK 100,000 in various prizes were distributed.

All finalists received special honors, and their teachers were recognized with commemorative crests.

The competition began on October 30, 2024, at the Maizbhandari Khankah Sharif at Khulshi in Chattogram, inaugurated by Hazrat Mawlana Shah Sufi Syed Emdadul Hoque Maizbhandari. A total of 2,345 students from 915 institutions nationwide participated in 23 regional auditions.

At the event, the chief guest, Hazrat Mawlana Shah Sufi Syed Emdadul Hoque Maizbhandari, presented awards to the winners. Special guests included Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, Managing Trustee of Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI); Syedul Haque Khan, Trustee of Alhaj Syedul Haque Khan Trust; Shahzada Syed Erham Hossain; and Dr. Osman Mehedi, Associate Professor of the Arabic Department at the University of Chittagong.

Representatives from Anjuman-e-Mottabayeen-e-Gaus-e-Maizbhandari (Shah Emdadia) Central Executive Committee, Chattogram District Executive Committee, Chattogram Metropolitan Executive Committee, and various branches were present at the event.

Additionally, on Wednesday, a Maizbhandari Sufi Khalwat session was held to mark the reunion of international branches from eight countries. The event's chief guest was Syed Irfanul Hoque Maizbhandari, Managing Trustee of the Darul Irfan Research Institute (DIRI).

The 119th annual Urs of Hazrat Gausul Azam Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari will take place on January 24, 2025, with a 10-day program scheduled to mark the occasion.
