The Cox's Bazar District Administration conducted an eviction drive at several points along the Cox's Bazar beach, removing 15 unauthorized hawker shops and nearly 200 street shops on Wednesday.
The eviction drive was led by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Imran Hossain Sajib from the afternoon until 8:00PM.
Imran Hossain Sajib said that the drive covered areas such as Sugandha Jhaubagan, the Sugandha entryway, the area near the water tank plot, and the Sugandha Beach Fish Fry Market.
During the drive, one food shop was fined for selling food in an unhygienic environment, he informed.
Tourist Police, Cox's Bazar District Police, and the Cox's Bazar Municipality assisted in the eviction drive.
