Fire burnt in a standing bus at Bhurungamari upazila bus stand in Kurigram district at noon on Thursday (January 30). All the seats bunt. Locals and Fire Service personnel brought the fire under control.
Local sources said a bus named Ahsan Enterprise was standing in the local bus stand as the stand of the seat was broken. The electric mason was welding the broken stand at noon. Suddenly fire broke out in the bus. Hearing the news locals rushed to the spot and Fire Fighter from Nageshwari upazila immediately rushed there and brought the fire under control. But all the seats of the bus burnt to ashes.
Manager of Ahsan Enterprise of Bhurungamari counter Noor Alam said when the electric mason was repairing the stand of the seat with electric welding the blaze of fire may touch with seat causing all the seats burnt.
Station Officer of Nageswari Fire Service and Civil Defense Saiful Islam told that being informed our team rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The loss was estimated at taka eight lakh and goods worth taka 20 lakh were recovered.
Officer-in-charge of Bhurungamari Police Station Al Helal Mahmud said it is suspected that the fire incident was occurred due to fault of engine.
