A man was injured in an attack allegedly by his rivals over land dispute at Dargagatti in Saltha Bazar of Faridpur district on Friday night. The victim was identified as Atik Mridha, 30, son of Munnu Mridha. Quoting victim, officer-in-charge of Saltha Police Station, Ataur Rahman, said Atik had been at loggerheads with some people over the ownership of a land and establishing supremacy in the area.
As a sequel to the enmity, a group of people waylaid Atik while he was returning to his home after closing his business establishment around 7 pm and hit him with a hammer, leaving Atik injured. Late, he was taken to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
