Police have arrested three leaders of Awami League and Swechchhasebak League in Chattogram.
They were arrested in a drive in the city's Karnaphuli police station area on Monday night.
The arrestees are Shikalbaha 5 no ward Awami League president Nurul Islam, 56, Charlakhya 8 no ward Awami League vice-president Nurul Alam, 55, and Karnaphuli upazila Swechchhasebak League manpower and employment affairs secretary Md Mizanur Rahman, 49.
Karnaphuli Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Sharif said three people were arrested on charges of sabotage during the anti-discrimination student movement. Legal action is being taken against them.
