Family members demanded better treatment for former minister and Awami League Presidium Member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain.
Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, who was in jail after being arrested on October 27, 2024, was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for physical examination. After the examination, he was taken back to jail.
Meanwhile, after the examination, the doctors of the hospital advised to send him to Dhaka for better treatment, claimed Mosharraf family members.
He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) from Chattogram Central Jail around 11:30 am on Wednesday.
Senior Jail Super of Chattogram Central Jail Md Iqbal Hossain told The Daily Messenger that he was sent to the hospital for regular physical examination in the morning. After the examination, he was brought back to jail.
Asked about sending him to Dhaka for better treatment, he said doctors advised to send him to Dhaka.
However, no decision has been made in this regard yet, he said.
Brigadier General Taslim Uddin, director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), told The Daily Messenger that he was brought to the hospital from Chattogram Central Jail in the morning for physical examination. After the examination, he was taken back to prison.
He also said he has been suffering from various diseases for a long time. Doctors advised to send him to Dhaka for better treatment.
On October 27, 2024, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested former lawmaker and Awami League Presidium Member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain from Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka. Since then he has been in Chittagong Central Jail.
